Life Lately + Return to Reading
Do you think Justin Timberlake cringes each year when it rolls around to May, and his meme “It’s Gonna be May” pops up on every social media feed? Personally, I was excited AF to turn the calendar and hit May today. That simple fact means Summer break starts next month, and I have my eye on the prize, baby!
Well, let’s see what kept me busy in April. April brought some seriously beautiful weather, had several fun HHs and dinners with friends, saw a comedy show, celebrated a friends birthday, worked with a new closet audit client, hit the trails for a return to running, and fell in love with reading again. April was good to me, but I have high hopes for May. As I sit here typing, I am in the midst of packing for a trip to Seattle to visit some great friends. I have never been to Washington, and I am excited to eat and drink my way around the city with a great group of people. I can’t wait to share all the details in my next post!
With my renewed love of reading, I now have 3 books to share. I promise that I will have a huge book post in late May. It feels great to be back.

Funny Story- Emily Henry
I usually stay clear of light, beach reads or “fluff,” but Emily Henry can do no wrong! This is a cute story of how 2 people find love after they both experience a break up. If you need a heartwarming book, make Funny Story your next read!
The Teacher- Freida McFadden
I needed a good suspense book with my return to reading, and this hit the mark! It reads almost like a Lifetime movie, and I mean that in the best possible way. A charismatic teacher seduces his female students, and we are left wondering how will his wife and these young girls will find justice!
The Other Mothers- Katherine Faulkner
Ok, I am going to cut to the chase…this is a hard pass! I wanted to like Katherine Faulkner’s newest book, because I loved her previous work. however, this suspense just dragged on and the characters never captured my attention or interest. I guess all my reads can’t be winners!
