Everything I Read in June
Disclaimer: This was by far NOT my best reading month! However, I did read 2 great books that would be great companions for the beach or pool this summer!
Well hello, I feel like I need to reintroduce myself since it has been a hot minute since my last blog post. The past month has been a whirlwind. I spent the first 2 weeks of June wrapping up work and finishing the school year. Then, I spent the last 2 weeks of June enjoying the HELL out of Summer. This has been a summer of “yes.” If someone suggests a fun activity or something to do, my answer has been “yes” to everything! That means I have been going to lots of Happy Hours, every workout class I can go to, a concert at the Bullpen, a charcuterie night, brunch in DC, a boat day in Annapolis, and I even made it home for Father’s Day! Hence, I haven’t been focused on reading. However, let’s dive into what I did read. I enjoyed both for light reading and fun!
People We Meet on Vacation
Poppy and Alex are best friends, who met in college and meet up each year to travel. Through these annual trips, they form a bond and friendship that carries them through adulthood. This book follows them through their friendship and other romantic relationships, always questioning if they should be together.
Malibu Rising
This book comes from Taylor Jenkins Reid, the author of Daisy Jones and the Six and the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, both books which I have read and enjoyed! Following the siblings of the Rivas family, Malibu Rising highlights a strong bond between siblings, who are all trying to find their own path. This author is a masterful creator of characters and this did not disappoint!
